No equipment is needed in order to be able to collect stamps.
The majority of collectors choose to invest in a few essential items for the purpose of display, preservation and inspection of their stamps.
Such as a magnifying glass, Stamp tongs(like tweezers but with rounded tips to prevent damage)
Cheapest way of storing stamps is to buy glassine envelopes keep them free from humidity, light and Heat.
But if you want ease of access and be able to find your stamps, placing them in an album helps to display them as you wish, whether that's by the country, topic or Size.
Better-quality albums have padded covers, which reduces possible pressure on the stamps exerted by adjacent albums on a shelf.
Some of the most popular stamps to collect are Countries, Flags, Sports, Trains/Railroads, Time periods, Famous People and Commemorative stamps.
Most nations of the world have a national collectors' organization of some sort; the American Philatelic Society in the United States is an example.
